Sheerstone is produced using only real natural stone and we claim to be the first to introduce translucent stone into the UK market and our installations can be traced back to over thirty years ago with our first installation for the Great Room at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
We were also the first to pioneer backlit stone flooring and in 2025 we continue to work alongside some of the World’s leading Architects designers and iconic brands.
We work alongside Architects & designers providing a bespoke personal service for commercial design and high-end interiors. We start with the brief and design intent. Initial discussion would involve discussing budget and researching the market to locate materials that provide the desired appearance and can provide the sizes required for the project. Samples are then produced for discussion and approval as well as for testing illumination options.
We use both Onyx and Ammonite to create the translucent stone panels. Our Onyx panels comprise of a 5mm natural stone veneer which has been laminated to a translucent substrate of either glass or plexiglass.
Our decorative Ammonite panels comprise slices of real natural agate that are arranged by hand allowing bespoke designs if required. The agate slices are then covered and encapsulated with clear resin and finally polished. We offer both 10mm and 20mm thickness options depending on the application.
